Cette exposition, qui réunit divers artistes visuels montréalais, explorera le concept d'"anomalie" en relation avec l'expérience des communautés marginalisées.

L'anomalie est définie comme ce qui s'écarte de ce qui est standard, normal ou attendu. L'anomalie est souvent à l'origine de l'innovation et de l'évolution du monde, mais elle est également redoutée lorsqu'elle remet en cause le statu quo. C'est ce carrefour de croissance et de résistance qui constitue un puissant lieu d'inspiration créative pour les personnes marginalisées qui comprennent les avantages et les coûts de l'existence dans le domaine de l'anomalie. Le phénomène de l'anomalie est intimement lié au spirituel en tant que canal de l'inexplicable, de l'étrange et du divin. Les anomalies dans les mondes naturel et humain représentent quelque chose de nouveau tout en incarnant les questions les plus anciennes de la vie.

À travers des œuvres convaincantes et expérimentales, ces artistes exploreront ce que signifie être une anomalie, un para-normal et un extraordinaire à l'ère moderne.

This exhibition, featuring a diverse cast of Montreal visual artists, will explore the concept of ‘anomaly’ in relation to the experience of marginalized communities.

Anomaly is defined as that which deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected. Deviation in the form of anomaly often produces innovation and evolution in the world but is also feared when it challenges the status quo. It is this crossroads of growth and resistance that acts as a powerful birthplace of creative inspiration for marginalized people who understand the benefits and costs of existing in the realm of anomaly. The phenomenon of anomaly is intimately tied to the spiritual as a conduit for the inexplicable, the strange, and the divine. Anomalies in the natural and human worlds represent something new yet embody life’s oldest questions.

Through compelling and experimental work, these artists will explore what it means to be an anomaly, para-normal, and extraordinary in the modern age.
