Underlings and Gilded Things

Natalie Castrogiovanni & Beatrice Shilton

VERNISSAGE; 30 JUIN 17H - 20H

Underlings and Gilded Things

This collaborative body of work is a reflection of late capitalism and the death of the American dream, amid a global health crisis. The sculptures in this exhibition are influenced by what was observed in the wake of economic, social and environmental collapse during the lockdown.

Underlings and Gilded Things explores the shift in value of essential and luxury goods. These issues are investigated through the medium of ceramics, referring to it as both a craft medium, and a material used in mass-production of goods.
